Fermi's Path Demo

Fermi's Path is an arcade game that will test the user’s speed and reaction as they control a subatomic particle moving through space on the sound of music.

It seems that controlling subatomic particles in a game is becoming a thing now. More and more developers are using them to make games, and they are actually the perfect candidates if you think about it. The quantum world is a weird one that allows all kinds of craziness to take place, so using the world that doesn’t make sense is a good idea for gaming.

It’s not clear why this is happening right now in the gaming world, but we can only be happy about it. On the other hand, despite the fancy name, Fermi's Path is not a serious game or at least it’s not trying to be. You won’t be learning a lot of new stuff, so don’t look at Fermi's Path like it’s a teaching tool.

Even if the developers from GameArt Studio GmbH are calling this an arcade game, it’s an endless runner. You just control a particle (or atom, not sure which) on a predefined path, and you can move in around that circular path.

You pick up various items along the way the increase your multiplier and you need to avoid obstacles, so you don’t die. From time to time, you can even get attacked, and you can fire back If you're lucky enough you will be able to enter small black holes that lead to other parts of the level.

It’s not all that difficult once you figure out what you have to do, but the game is about getting a high score and not about actually having trouble finishing a certain level.

A big plus in Fermi's Path is the music, which might sound a little generic at times, but it’s sounds good, and it suits the game perfectly.

Also, the game is built in Unity, and it looks really good. It should work even on older systems. The demo level only comes with a few available levels.
