To start off with, you might be a bit surprised at the size of the map on which the action takes place, since it is very large and you are allowed to basically go anywhere you like. There are plenty of beautiful landscapes to admire, including lakes, mountains, and even cozy diners on the side of the road, which brings back memories from a different era.

The game puts a wide variety of missions and activities at your disposal, including plowing, harvesting, or even animal husbandry, in case you want to animate your farm with a few chickens or cows. Most of these activities, however, require specific machinery in order to be executed properly, such as tractors and combines that make the job a lot easier. In this regard, the game features over one hundred vehicles and tools that can be driven and used to accomplish various task, all of which are officially licensed and modeled after their real counterpart.

It is worth noting that the graphics engine is quite potent, especially when it comes to rendering the highly-detailed vehicles. The landscapes are very nicely done as well and you can really let yourself relax from time to time, since there is nothing stopping you from just driving around aimlessly at sunset.

Farming Simulator 2013 may not be your usual game, but it does occupy a very interesting niche and it can certainly be the source of countless hours of fun and relaxation. It is also a good opportunity to witness the daily routine of a farmer, as well as be aware of what it takes to keep a farm in shape.
