Bombs seem to be vital elements in almost every video game out there, especially if the genre demands some action. In fact, there are entire games focused on bombs alone, such as the classic Bomberman or similar titles. Hence, it’s difficult to imagine a time when bombs and explosives of every kind will no longer be of interest to developers and gamers.

Dyna Bomb is an arcade puzzle game with platformer elements and a jovial atmosphere that somehow makes the adventure that much more pleasant. Hence, your job is to pass each level by unlocking the door at the end, which in turn requires you to find the right key. On top of that, you have to avoid all sorts of traps and enemies that try to make your life miserable.

Thankfully, your character has a few tricks at his disposal to take care of almost every threat. Speaking of which, there are two different heroes to choose from, although it would seem like the only differences between them are cosmetic. However, at least you can choose one of multiple power-ups to boost your character a little bit and make your life a lot easier.

Your main weapons are the bombs, which can be thrown in order to destroy enemies or cause a bit of havoc. You can also avoid confrontation entirely by using the jetpack in order to fly around the enemies and get to the desired spot. It becomes rather important that you take care of enemies at one point, on the other hand, especially if you want to collect the diamonds along the way.

Since it’s pretty difficult to avoid death at all times, the game has to feature accurate and responsive controls, which it does. This eliminates the risk of unnecessary stress, and it also allows you to be more confident with your character’s movement. Moreover, the level design and the graphics are not bad at all either, even if the stages get repetitive after a while.

When it’s all said and done, Dyna Bomb is not exactly an original game, but the way it mixes every element makes the whole experience feel exciting and challenging at the same time. Hence, the 64 levels should be enough to keep you busy for a while.
