Disneys Tarzan Action Game
The fascination with the jungle and its animals has always aroused people's curiosity. Edgar Rice Burroughs, the writer of the Tarzan book series created a fascinating character, a borderline between myth and reality.
An outstanding book turns into a fun Disney game
The game was developed by Eurocom and published by Sony Computer Entertainment in 1999. The graphics were quite good for that period of time and even by today's standards, are not that bad.
We all know about the story of Tarzan, so I'm not going to bother you with the details. The creator of the game felt the same way so the intro isn't that long: you take on the role of Tarzan and must save the home of the gorillas from the evil hunter Clayton.
Playing and having lots of fun
There are three levels of difficulty, but if you've played a platformer before, I suggest you start with the normal one.
Tarzan was raised by the apes so he mastered some of their skills when it comes to tree climbing and agility. Basic fruits are a formidable weapon that you can throw at monkeys, baboons, eagles, and even humans. Other types of fruits can also be collected and used against stronger foes, but are limited, unlike the basic ones.
On each level there are six different letters you can collect: T, A, R, Z, A, N. If you get all of them, you'll be able to unlock a clip from the movie.
There is no tutorial, but you will be getting advices and tips from Turk, Tarzan's friend.
Remember the golden age of gaming...
Playing through this adventure is fun and it also allows gamers to take a trip down memory lane, when the games were mostly about content and not visuals.
