Demon Hunter 2: A New Chapter is yet another title from Big Fish Games that pitches you in the investigator role, only this time, on the trails of what can be a demonic intrusion into the human realm.

In Demon Hunter 2: A New Chapter, like in most hidden object games, you’ll follow the path of the clues and puzzles that line the way toward the end of the story. The story starts with you getting a desperate call from a man, it follows up with you leaving to see what’s going on and continues with your helicopter getting shot down with a rocket launcher. Typical to the genre, you ‘land’ unscathed and a few feet away from where you needed to be.

After that, it continues with the standard footsteps. You have to use the mouse cursor to find and pick up various usable objects, trigger mechanisms, or solve puzzles. Each one will help guide you through the main plot while casually challenging your mind.

Demon Hunter 2: A New Chapter has an interesting story to it, but it lacks in other aspects. The voice acting is rather bad, but the blending of the visual elements is downright ugly at times. It seems like someone didn’t want to go the extra mile when it came to properly blending all the elements that went into a scene. And that applies to multiple scenes.

Compared to other games from the genre, Demon Hunter 2: A New Chapter is decent in looks and atmosphere, but it has nice puzzles and a good story, so there are parts worth playing for.

Demon Hunter 2: A New Chapter might be worth playing for the plot. Who knows maybe the story to it gets really good and makes the less successful parts fade into the background.
