Deer Hunter Demo
One of the earliest hunting simulators out there, featuring three different weapons and even a few accessories. #Hunt deer #Hunting simulator #Deer hunt #Deer #Hunter #Hunt
Regardless of whether you hunt for sport or to put dinner on the table, the amount of skill required in order to track and put the prey down is the same. However, there are multiple ways you can go about it, starting from the lures and traps that can be used, all the way to the weapon you carry and how much noise you are prepared to make when you are taking the decisive shot on the target.
Deer Hunter is one of the classics of the genre and the beginning of a long and fruitful franchise, given the fact that it is still a well-known name in the industry. However, due to the age of the title in question, you should not expect too much going in, unless you happen to be a returning fan in search of nostalgia, in which case you are in the right place. If you can run it on a modern computer, the game is as fascinating as it was two decades ago.
In essence, the main purpose is for you to kill as many deers as possible, using one of the available weapons. The three options put at your disposal are shotgun, rifle and bow, depending on how much finesse you want to apply, or how loud you want to be. Naturally, they all have their advantages and disadvantages, but it all resumes to your ability to aim in the end.
Beside the desired weapon, you can also choose a certain perk at the start of the mission, such as whether you want to begin with a tree stand and avoid being seen by your prey, a special scent to attract the animals faster and in greater numbers, or a certain kind of chemical solution to mask your own scent and avoid being detected by the rest of the animals.
As you might very well suspect, the graphic quality is nothing to stand in awe of, but the game’s age is certainly the main enemy here. However, you can still enjoy it for as long as you want without being annoyed by the visuals themselves, since the environments are static and quite detailed, despite the low resolution textures and the low-poly models that stand for the weapons and the deers.
In case you missed Deer Hunter back when it was released, it wouldn’t hurt to give it a try, if only to see where the franchise made its first baby steps. The thrill of the hunt might just cause you to lose a few hours patiently waiting for the deer to step into your sights.
