Death's Life Demo
Use household objects to obtain a domino effect and kill people as efficiently as possible. #Puzzle game #Chain reaction #Death simulator #Puzzle #Death #Chain
Accidents happen all the time around the world, and it doesn’t matter how silly they are, some of them cause a few deaths. Bad luck can be a huge factor in someone’s struggle for survival, although it’s obviously not the main cause of death among humans. Hence, you have probably wondered about how many things must go wrong for one of those unfortunate accidents to happen.
Death's Life is a top-down puzzle game in which your goal is simple: arrange a couple of household objects in such a way as to cause someone’s death. It may sound relatively simple, but the gameplay mechanics are tough enough to keep you guessing for a while. Unfortunately, the game is pretty linear, or so it would seem, because there’s just one way to arrange everything to obtain the correct result.
Speaking of which, the actual gameplay is pretty simple when it comes to what you have to do. Hence, your only task is to click on objects and get the proper combination. Only the objects that are part of the domino effect can be clicked, so that makes it much easier to handle. Not only that, but the items are automatically shifted around, so you do not have to be precise at all.
The fact that there’s only one way for the thing to go down can be pretty disappointing, but that doesn’t make it any less fun the first time around. Hence, whether you obtain a decapitation from a simple gush of wind through the window or you crush someone with a car, it’s quite neat to observe the domino effect. On the other hand, replayability is almost zero, which is kind of a bummer.
As for the graphics, the top-down perspective is well-chosen for the genre, because it allows you to see everything at once and not miss anything important. However, the whole graphic style is pretty simplistic, at least if you compare it to everything else out there at the moment. Still, the gameplay is the main element, and it should keep you distracted from everything else.
In the end, Death's Life can be very fun, especially if you enjoy solving puzzles. However, the linearity severely undermines replayability, and it also makes you feel constrained. Hence, we can only hope that the full version is going to do something in this regard.
