Dark Realm: Queen of Flames Collector's Edition begins with a night like any other night in your village. Everyone is minding their business, even the guards are sleeping and unfortunately, no one can warn you of the danger that is upon you.

The game starts off with an attack from a group of mysterious people which are set to destroy your entire village and everyone in it. You take refuge with your father in a smithing shop while the banshees try to force the doors to capture you both.

You manage to escape their clutches but your father is captured and taken away. It’s now your task to find out who is behind this attack and to save your father. Equipped with a few items left by your mother, you can make yourself invisible and explore your surroundings for a way to escape the burning town and find refuge.

All hidden object games have the same gameplay. You are placed in a series of areas, or chapters, where you need to locate one or more objects that are meant to help you in your journey and unravel the mysteries behind the story. Apart from pointing and clicking the required items to collect them, at times you will have to solve one or more puzzles to obtain some.

What stands out in Dark Realm: Queen of Flames Collector's Edition is the way in which the story is being told. There are numerous cutscenes that elucidate the story or make it more ambiguous. There are puzzles that are solved as a story is narrated and other pieces of the plot are presented as short clips.

On a closing note, Dark Realm: Queen of Flames Collector's Edition doesn’t have an all original story behind it and gameplay follows the traditional pattern most of the times but the way in which the story is told seems to makes up for it.
