Naturally, a brutal murder takes place right in front of her hotel, which is why she is forced to figure it out and find the culprit. As for the gameplay mechanics, expect the usual combination of hidden object scenes and the occasional puzzle.

The story is quite intriguing as well, given the fact that it features a pretty mysterious serial killer that leaves some sort of paper lily on every victim. While this makes the crimes more interesting, it also gives away the deeds of the said killer, which makes it easy for the authorities to track him down. Your goal is to follow the clues and see who’s responsible for the murders.

In case you are not familiar with the genre, Crime Secrets: Crimson Lily presents you with a pretty relaxed gameplay, which usually consists of hidden object scenes and the occasional puzzle. The goal is to find useful items that allow you to open containers or put other objects back together, while the puzzles revolve around being able to spot the pattern.

Many good things can be said about the graphics as well, or at least about the hand-drawn landscapes you get to visit along the way. The actual graphics quality is about as basic as you’ve come to accept in the genre, so it’s all about static scenes and the occasional animated cinematic. Thankfully, at least the sound effects and the voice acting are pretty engaging.

All things considered, Crime Secrets: Crimson Lily can easily keep you busy for a few hours, depending on how quick you can solve the riddles. On the other hand, it doesn’t feature too many new elements gameplay-wise, so it might feel a tad repetitive for hardcore fans of the genre.
