Crashed Lander Demo

Crashed Lander is a gravity based arcade game that aims to bring back the memories of older and similar games that were all the rage 20 years ago.

Some of the older gamers might remember some titles like Lunar Lander and Space Taxi, which were basically in their own genre. Players needed to control vehicles that had little or no propulsion just by using the inertia. This is much more difficult than you can imagine, and it often happen that there were some pretty serious obstacles in your way.

Even if it sounds like casual games, that was only true for the first levels. Once you moved on to the more complicated ones, players needed multiple tries just to get to the end of the levels. The same goes for Crashed Lander, which even incorporates the eventual failure of the players in its name.

This genre is not overly populated, and you can probably count all the good game on the fingers from one hand. As you might have suspected, games like Crashed Lander won’t sell by the millions, which means that it’s probably built by people who really wanted something similar to the titles that they played so many years ago.

Unlike its predecessors, Crashed Lander is using a much more complex physics engine, and it takes place in 3D. This makes it even more complicated, but it’s also much more challenging at the same time.

The goal in each level is really simple. Take off and land on series of platforms, in the shortest time possible, and without crashing. The lander is not all that fragile, and it will take a little bit of damage, but it doesn’t take much to destroy it. There are no checkpoints, so you’ll have to start the level from the beginning.

The game is using the Unity engine, and it’s really good implementation. The physics engine does its job wonderfully, which in the case of Crashed Lander is all that it really matters. The demo version of Crashed Lander only has five maps, four easy and one really tough.
