Colin McRae Rally 4 Demo
Rally circuits involve high speeds and little time for reaction, hence the copilots that inform the drivers about the upcoming turns. In addition, the tournament stages are spread across multiple countries, ranging from desert environments to snowy tracks that leave little room for error when they are crossed at high speeds.
Compete in the most prestigious rally tournament
Colin McRae Rally 4 brings the excitement of these races to your computer screen, by allowing you to take part in the intense rally tournament that takes you around the world in order to compete with the best drivers out there. Thus, you can show off your driving skills on tracks set in Finland, Australia, England and even Sweden, all of which feature their own challenges when it comes to approaching them.
Every country is formed out of multiple stages, all of which can be cleared before you can move to the next one. To get ahead, you have to obtain the best times on every stage, although only the final result has any impact on whether you are allowed to move on into the next country. Hence, you can make some mistakes in one stage, although you do have to give it your best in the next round to make up for it.
Set up your car before each race
Before heading to the track, you are allowed to bring modifications to your car, in order to adjust its characteristics to the type of terrain it has to run on. Beside the suspension stiffness, you can also control the tire pressure, the gearbox behavior and the break balance between the front and the back of the car.
Usually, the vehicle can get damaged during the race, since it can be quite difficult to keep it on the track at all times and avoid every obstacle that happens to be in your way. Thus, after each stage, you are allowed to repair it, although you only get one in-game hour to do so, which limits the components you are able to fix. Because of this, you must choose which parts you need the most and hope that the rest can hold on for one more race.
A realistic rally simulator for hardcore fans
At its core, Colin McRae Rally 4 tries to maintain as much realism as possible, as it can be clearly observed in the way that cars can be handled, as well as the realistic damage system that affects every piece of your vehicle. Despite all this, it still remains a very fun game to play, with detailed graphics and refined sound quality.
