Simple and challenging do not necessarily have to exclude themselves, especially not when it comes to video games. Hence, it is possible to have simple gameplay mechanics and challenging levels, which is exactly how platformers work most of the time. Super Meat Boy is probably the best example of this, since it is also the most popular as well.

Bloody Trapland is exactly that, only it allows you to enjoy the same type of fun in multiplayer with your buddies. Hence, your primary purpose is to avoid all the traps and try to get to the end of the level while waiting for your pals to do the same. Sometimes, a bit of teamwork is required in order to make it, or maybe even to open the way to a secret level.

The main characters of the game appear to be some sort of cats, with plenty of fur painted in various bright colors. They do not  have anything special about them other than the different color, so it doesn’t matter which one you end up playing with. Instead, it’s all about your personal abilities and coordination skills because you’ll need plenty of those to get out alive.

As everyone knows, good levels are what make a platformer memorable, especially in cases like this. The goal is to make them incredibly hard to complete, yet not impossible and not too frustrating either. In essence, it’s all about paying close attention to multiple things at once, because there are traps everywhere, and it only takes one wrong step to be mutilated by one.

Mutilated doesn’t even begin to cut it, however, because even the lightest touch with a spike results in a massive explosion of blood and guts. As such, the game is not  suitable for the younger audience, although nothing’s too graphic either. The controls are very smooth as well, so they won’t stand in your way when you have to perform a tricky jump.

In the end, Bloody Trapland features enough stages to keep you and your friends entertained for many hours, not to mention the fact that each level can be replayed multiple times without losing its charm. Hence, if you want something fun to do with your pals and you are tired of Call of Duty, this might very well prove to be the solution.
