Wind of Luck: Arena is an indie MMO that pitches teams of warships against each other in battles to the death using a wide array of weapons. Become a champion of the high seas by using your sail warship and its crew to the best of their abilities.

In Wind of Luck: Arena, things are pretty simple. From the beginning, you pick a ship, be it Asian, Caribbean or Mediterranean, and sail it into the open waters and battle. Each one is equipped with canons that shoot from the sides or the back, depending on the ship type, and using a simple control scheme; you need to sink as many enemy ships as possible.

The game is easy to play but mastering it takes a bit of time. You see, aiming is done by positioning your entire ship alongside or in range of the enemy vessel, and managing a successful hit takes some practice.

Apart from choosing your weapons, which can be simple cannons, harpoon guns, and even catapults, you can even hire crew members for the ship. Each one should be carefully chosen because they bring individual improvements to the ship’s capabilities and performance, something that can make or break a battle for you.

The gameplay is very similar to that in World of Warships but unfortunately, it doesn't even come close to having its visual appeal. Wind of Luck: Arena runs very smooth, and the graphics aren’t bad, but the game could benefit a lot from a visual overhaul.

For a game that’s about warships, it doesn’t seem like a lot of attention was given to them. The HUD is very nice, and everything is pretty much self-explanatory, which is a very good thing since you will have to use a lot of keys later on when you have a high tier ship.

To end, Wind of Luck: Arena is a decent game if you’re into sail warships and team on team combat between them. The game has enough depth to keep you playing for a long time, and since the battles take only a few minutes, it’s even more enjoyable. Mind the matchmaking, though, it’s awful at times.
