Tyrania Part 1: A Visual Novel
Listen to a tale about a world on the brink of destruction, in which two lovers grow apart little by little. #Visual novel #Kinetic vn #Sci-fi novel #Novel #Story-rich #Sci-fi
The world is bound to evolve in one direction or another in the next couple of decades, and it all depends on the current generation. Hence, whether it’s going to be some kind of utopia where everyone lives well, or a horrible dystopia that brings humanity to its knees, only time can tell. On the other hand, such extremes never seem to last for long.
Tyrania Part 1: A Visual Novel is, as the name clearly states, a kinetic visual novel that presents you with a frightening world ruled by violence and terrorism. Unfortunately, you do not have the power to change anything about the story, since it runs by itself from start to finish. Even so, it’s a great way to relax and watch the events unfold, especially if you like futuristic tales.
The whole plot revolves around a man by the name of Edo, who one day finds himself able to control technology as he desires. Naturally, the powerful people of the world go on a manhunt to capture Edo and somehow take his powers away. On the other hand, Edo has some ideas of his own, which is why he decides to fight everyone and try to rid the world of everything evil or unjust.
The lack of choices is a bit of a bummer if you are used to more interactive visual novels, because there’s nothing you can do but stare at the screen and click whenever you want the story to advance. To make matters worse, the transitions between backgrounds are very long for some reason, which is kind of a bother if you decide to play the game again and you do not want to see everything in slow motion.
Speaking of which, the artwork is not out of this world either, but it certainly has the power to create a nice atmosphere. The character design is a bit sloppy and crude, even if each one of them appears to have multiple facial expressions. Most of the backgrounds are merely photos with a few filters and effects added on top, which is not ideal.
In the end, Tyrania Part 1: A Visual Novel certainly has something to offer, but it needs more work before it can maintain your attention for longer than a few minutes. The artwork needs a lot more effort as well.
