Truck Racing by Renault Trucks

Driving simulators that put you behind the wheel of an 18 wheeler are nice and relaxing but at some point you really do feel the need to see how it does on the open road. Since you can’t really race in those types of games, Truck Racing by Renault Trucks was created to allow you to experience what it’s like to take one of those bad boys onto a legal track.

In Truck Racing you get to create your own custom profile and race in both single player and multiplayer modes. The first provides you with several tracks to choose from, each one unique in design and situated in a different environment.

After enlisting in the race, you get to choose the type of truck and its skin, and you actually do have plenty to choose from but that only applies to the skins. Other than that, there’s not much going on, except for the fact that you can choose the type of race, number of laps and opponents.

Once the race starts, you can opt for three camera views, floating, cabin and behind, out of which the second might actually lessen the entire experience. The interior is poorly designed and it doesn’t really give you the impression of driving a big truck.

On a visual level, Truck Racing by Renault Trucks won’t really impress. The game features car damage and you get a bottom right indicator that shows you just how much you have taken but you can’t really see the dents in the body. Moreover, the truck damage also seems to have no effect on its performance even when it’s at 100%.

On the other hand, handling on the trucks feels accurate, those who have actually driven one can tell better. Although, until you actually get to drive a real one, the in-game ones seem to be pretty fun to race.

To wrap up the subject, Truck Racing is a decent game that provides a fairly good experience for those who want to drive powerful trucks on the race track.
