Many people seem to have problem when it comes to social situations, mainly because modern times have changed the way we communicate with each other. Hence, it’s much easier to just hit someone up on Facebook than meet in person, especially since you are much more comfortable doing it from the comfort of your own home.

The Average Everyday Adventures of Samantha Browne is a short adventure game with visual novel elements in which you play the role of a girl with social anxiety problems. In short, she doesn’t really like to interact with other people, which is especially difficult when you consider the fact that she is a college student, living on campus.

The game starts with Samantha having to fix herself something to eat, but she usually waits until everyone else is asleep in order to go to the kitchen and do it. This time she is past hungry, on the other hand, which is why she forces herself to start cooking. Naturally, she needs your help to make sure everything goes smoothly, because you are the one taking every decision.

The game plays very much like an interactive novel, in the sense that you only get to watch most of the time, except for when you need to make a decision regarding Samantha’s next action. Everything revolves around the oatmeal she wants to cook for herself, but things can go wrong in a million different ways if you do not take the proper decisions at the right time.

As far as the visual quality is concerned, the artwork is certainly unique, but it may not be everyone’s cup of tea, especially if you are a fan of the smooth anime style. This is much more disorganized and colorful, yet it can still be beautiful if you can appreciate it. Alas, the graphics are the last thing that should bother you at the game, given the simple story and lack of originality.

All things considered, The Average Everyday Adventures of Samantha Browne won’t blow anyone’s mind, but it can certainly be a fun way to spend half an hour or so. The graphics might just do the trick for you.
