Teatime Samurai

Teatime Samurai is a 2D twin-stick shooter with a retro look that has you killing zombies, giant eyeballs that shoot lasers, feet and a lot more. It’s all carried out in the arcade manner so be prepared to be overwhelmed by the enemy a lot of the time.

Like with most twin-stick shooters, it’s all about how well you can coordinate both of your hands with your site. You use a set of controls to move the 2D samurai and another to shoot in the direction you want. It will be a bit confusing at first and harder than in other games because auto-fire is out of the question.

The monsters you shoot also get tougher by the minute and there’s one mechanic that pushes your skills even more. As you shoot, your lantern drains and your vision fades away. You have to keep moving, collecting fuel and make every shot count because it’s easy to run out of juice, and you’ll be a sitting duck before you know it.

The game supports up to four players at a time meaning that you can take on this challenge with your friends. Each one will have an independent character to control, and you must work together to fend off the invasion.

It’s a nice feature to the game because it makes it a bit more enjoyable. It’s always better to kill stuff when you’re with a friend, or three.

To end, Teatime Samurai is a decent solo and co-op game. There are plenty others like it around but it manages to set itself apart and with a bit more work, it should get pretty good.
