Superbike Racers is a game that puts you in the seat of a powerful superbike and has you racing on a large number of tracks. You get up to 12 tracks on which to battle other racers and several bikes to choose from.
A decent game for those who enjoy the genre
Superbike Racers is a game that doesn’t offer all that much. In terms of graphics, it’s decent without any excessive attention to details, visual effects are almost non existent, and the audio soundtrack isn’t half bad.
In terms of gameplay, it’s possible to opt between ‘Competition’ and ‘Single Race’ modes although tracks for Single Race won’t be available until you unlock them in the Competition mode. Also, the additional bikes that are available for racing must also be unlocked by accumulating a certain number of score points.
At times difficult but manageable
The camera view in Superbike Racers is fixed right behind the racer without any hint of being just a bit over the shoulder. Because of this, it’s at times difficult to fully make out which turn comes up and how big of a curve it is. Although, to make things easier, you could use the minimap but even so it’s easy to make a mistake.
Superbike Racers comes with three difficulty levels which enable or disable certain features of the game. Regardless of the one you choose, your AI opponents move just as fast, but being able to add or remove crashes or collisions makes a huge difference.
In easy mode, the AI is made up of ghost racers through which you can pass to make up for lost time. It’s actually a good way to race until you unlock most of the tracks and get a handle on how the bike reacts to the controls. After that, you’re more than welcome to try the Hard mode.
On a closing note, Superbike Racers is nice to play if you’re looking for a racing game that’s pretty fast-paced. Just, don’t expect too much from it.
