Being a spy might look cool and exciting in movies, but the actual job is a tad more boring than that, because spies rarely drive Aston Martins or wear black turtlenecks on a regular basis. However, we have the luxury of pretending that life is as glamorous as it is in James Bond movies, because video games do not always have to account for reality.

Stealth Bound Level Pack is an extended version of the original Stealth Bound and it practically allows you to enjoy the game for much longer, thanks to all the new levels included in the package. In case you are not familiar with the initial release, Stealth Bound is a comical stealth game with a humorous twist on spy-related activities, complete with sleeping guards and the possibility to avoid detection by hiding behind a bush.

The story is more or less the same, in the sense that there’s not a lot of it. In essence, the final goal seems to be for your character to infiltrate a secret laboratory, but it’s certainly not very detailed. Instead, the focus of the action is the gameplay itself, which is oozing with humour and various small gimmicks that allow you to have a good time and enjoy a challenge at the same time.

Although you have the option to slip by unnoticed most of the time, it is a lot more entertaining just to make use of all the funny mechanics at your disposal. Hence, enemies can be knocked out and hidden in dumpsters, not to mention the fact that you can hide under a box and move around like in Tom & Jerry when the guards aren’t looking. It’s small things like this that make each level unique and help you have a good time along the way.

However, don’t mistake the game’s silly approach to the genre for amateurism either, because everything works smoothly and the environment is usually quite interactive. It is clear that a lot of work went into each level and the animations that are part of them. Speaking of which, the graphics may be cartoony and rather silly, but they are also clean and very sharp.

When it’s all said and done, Stealth Bound Level Pack is certainly one of the best of its kind, especially humour-wise. Hence, if you want to have a laugh and play the role of a spy at the same time, this is definitely one of the most inspired choices you can make at the moment.
