QuadSmash

QuadSmash is that kind of arena brawler in which four players gather to smash each other using pulse waves and magnetic grappling hooks combined with various objects. By that intro, you’d think that it’s another generic brawler, and in part you could be right. However, that part represents a very small percentage of what QuadSmash is.

By comparison to several other games that push this kind of fast-paced arena mayhem, QuadSmash is by far one of the best I’ve met.

One thing that’s nice about QuadSmash is that you can play it in both solo mode and against human adversaries. In singleplayer, you get to race against the clock in a series of increasingly difficult obstacle courses. For speedrun fans, QuadSmash’s campaign mode is a must try.

As for the multiplayer part, the vehicle mechanics are very fun to mess around with. The stomp and energy blast moves work great and make the game very chaotic and fun. Once you master the magnetic hook, it gets even better. If you’re looking to drench some time in a hectic way, QuadSmash is a very good choice.

Control skills are the only thing that matter in QuadSmash. Well, that and having a plan to obliterate your opponent. The quads are designed to be a cinch to control, very responsive, and if you’re a natural at fast-paced platformers with tight controls, this little indie will delight.

You won’t crush your fingers doing complicated things, but pinpoint movements are key, and even those pure luck scenarios turn out looking awesome.

To end, QuadSmash is a very good game in almost all of its aspects. It looks good visually, the animations are excellent, the gameplay is very well polished and the overall experience is very enjoyable.
