Motocross The Force
A lightweight motocross simulator that lets you try and race while it amuses you a heck of a lot. #Motocross race #Racing game #Dirt bike #Motocross #Force #Racing
Motocross The Force is an indie game that aims to be a bit of a motocross simulator. You get a few bikes to choose from, a few more tracks to race on and AI adversaries to compete against. It sounds like fun but it looks and plays a bit funny.
Motocross The Force truly looks like an indie game. The graphics are ok but barely, the models are decent(ish) and overall, the game struggles to maintain a good look. It’s not a bad game, by all means, there have been worse to surface into the gaming world but this one is kind of funky.
First off, making turns with this bike is a bit of a nightmare. You have the arrow keys to accelerate, brake and turn and you also have w,a,s,d to use in order to rotate the bike. No problems here, in all fairness it’s actually quite the good feature but what gets to you is the sensitivity of the landings.
If you make one little mistake, you eat dirt, a lot of it. This is not necessarily something bad because in real life, if you freefall from 40 feet on a bike, almost completely downwards, chances are you won’t make the landing stick. However, in way too many cases, your rider’s balance is way too fragile.
One thing you’ll really like about Motocross The Force are the crashes. Your ragdoll rider looks very amusing as he flies and then plummets to the ground. Not to mention that you can hit another rider and both of you can create some really nice flight choreography.
Considering the aforementioned dose of realism, you’ll be doing a lot of flying around until you actually get used to the controls and how the bike handles.
Despite the graphics limitations, poor audio and tricky gameplay, Motocross The Force is a decent game. It won’t make you want to play it non stop but there are a good couple of minutes there for you to enjoy.
