Considering this game has been created with the free 30-day trial version of DarkBASIC Professional I think that is quite some feat especially when it is as polished as this is. Thumb up for this one...
The C64 original saw you take control of a small sphere shaped object in the middle of a grid structure, around the edges various aliens took pot-shots at you before eventually rolling in to try and kill you close-up.
You had to dodge the cross fire (gettit?!), dodge the baddies and ultimately kill them all. Easier said than done. Kipple is a faithful recreation albeit given a gothic graphical overhaul and it's well worth checking out, even if it will drive you insane because of its difficulty factor.
Here are some key features of "Kipple":
· Fantastic moody graphics
· Equally moody music that fits the game perfectly
· Nice graphical effects (explosions, shots, etc)
· Various game options (difficulty level, meteors)
· One or Two player
· Semi-intelligent AI
· Potential competition finalist if only it hadn't been so hard!
