However, they must make some sort of sense in the grand scheme of things, because it’s not a good idea to use them just for shock value either. In case you are not aware, a chimera is a cross between two species, and they exist in the real world as well.

Khimera: Destroy All Monster Girls is a retro platformer that puts you in control of a unique character, one that is actually a lab-created chimera. The game plays like a classic action platformer, which means that you have to avoid traps, jump over pits and defeat enemies in order to advance. However, you have something to help you along in your quest: a powerful golem arm.

As such, the story puts you in the role of a synthetic girl created with a huge golem arm in order to take care of a pirate invasion. The said pirates invade her town and start looting left and right, which means that your task is to defeat them and recover the treasure as quickly as possible. Boss fights are also part of the deal, and there are more than enough levels to keep you busy.

Chelshia can jump, attack, perform a power punch and dash, all of which come in handy at one point or another. You can also combine them sometimes to get out of sticky situations, although you can also become a bit overpowered if you figure out how to use the dash to your advantage and avoid almost all damage. Thankfully, the game is fun enough to keep you playing no matter what.

Speaking of which, the graphics are gorgeous most of the time, but the level design can be a bit bland every now and again. Some of the levels are too empty and boring, while others are packed with enemies and traps. Thankfully, the controls are quite responsive, even they are not always accurate, regardless of whether you use a keyboard or a controller.
