The human mind has yet to be completely be deciphered by science, but we know it well enough to have a few sound theories about how most of it works. As such, electricity seems to be the way our brain cells communicate with each other, which makes it that much more exciting. However, it would be a lot more exciting if we could actually see the process from up close.
InMind VR is an interactive virtual reality experience that aims to educate people about the intricacies of the human mind, while also being very fun and engaging at the same time. It sounds like a pretty monumental task, but the developers somehow managed to capture the essence of both worlds. The VR component is the icing on the cake, because it takes you very close to the action.
The gameplay is about as simple as it gets, given the fact that all you have to do is to keep the crosshair on a red neuron for a few seconds, but the actual exploration is phenomenal. The experience is much more interactive than most VR games out there, because you are not just an immobile observer with no control over what’s happening. You are actually shooting lasers by gazing at stuff.
The whole landscape feels pretty huge from the first few seconds, and it can be quite unnerving if you’ve never experienced virtual reality before. It’s that much more exciting when you remember that you are actually looking at human neurons, which are incredibly small under normal circumstances. You also have to remember that you are in a ship, and it’s possible to examine it by just looking around.
The graphics and the level design are by far the best thing about the game, because it’s too short to be considered a proper adventure. There are only a few minutes of gameplay included, but the whole thing is pretty replayable, at least if you just want to admire the scenery and get the most out of your VR gear.
In the end, InMind VR is certainly worthy of a try, especially if you’ve just purchased a VR device and you are aching to test it. Besides the engaging scenery, the game is also very interactive, so you can test everything about your device in a few minutes.
