IceSnake description |
|
|
It's a 3D snake game, collect the apples and avoid the mushrooms.
Newton is a well known open-source physics engine that you can see abely demonstrated in this competition entry. It's a 3D snake game, collect the apples and avoid the mushrooms.
Except the only thing that kills you is touching a mushroom with your head - your body can actually be used as a potent aid in helping you obtain apples that are too close to mushrooms for comfort.
You can literally wrap your body around the said objects and force them to slide down the terrain. Each level brings something new (ice, lava, space) although sadly no 'extra lives' bonus which we could have done with by the 3rd level.
The added physics dynamic of the game works really well, but it is also one of the problems - sometimes it feels like a real uphill struggle to actually get your snake to move, as if you've slid through a patch of tar without realising it.
But it is something you do get used to and it's worth playing for sure. So this is how a snake popsical looks like!
Here are some key features of "IceSnake":
· Lovely snake coiling, rolling and tumbling physics! · Nice graphics, good level variety · Having to wrap yourself around some mushrooms to move them is a great idea
