Hyperspace Invaders II
An arcade game that fuses several titles and mashes them up to create something that's totally trippy. #Arcade shooter #Shoot'em up #Arcade shmup #Arcade #Arcader #Shmup
Hyperspace Invaders II is probably one of the few games which actually deserves to have ‘hyper’ in its name. Why that is, you find out in the first minute of gameplay. It’s an arcade shoot’em up that combines several well known titles to create something wonderfully chaotic and colorful.
Hyperspace Invaders II is very intense, you might not see it as so from the first two levels but beyond that, there’s so much going on on the screen that it becomes really tough to keep up with it all. Fortunately, with this shoot’em up you won’t have to worry about it having ridiculously punishing gameplay because most of the stuff that’s on screen are ships flying around and their colorful explosions. Projectile barrages exist but they are somewhat merciful.
Enemy ships come at you from all over, in all kinds of patterns and follow a wide variety of movement paths, all of which keep your reflexes and coordination skills peaking. Hyperspace Invaders II really is a game that you want to play if you’re looking for something that you know will keep you hooked. With this one, there’s barely time to blink.
Hyperspace Invaders II, although highly confusing at times, looks excellent. The side of inspiration from Geometry Wars is more than evident and it’s wonderfully implemented. Animations are smooth, effects are eye catching and since there 10-30 explosions that occur on screen almost constantly, this game almost feels like it was designed to be a trip through color beyond space and time. It’s totally trippy.
Hyperspace Invaders II handles excellently and pushes classic gameplay. You control your ship using the arrow keys, auto fire is enabled but you can hit the Space key to use focused fire, there are powerups to collect and of course, high scores to fight for. It is the embodiment of several features and design elements that make shoot'em up games great.
On top of all that what was said, Hyperspace Invaders II also features beat-based gameplay with adaptive difficulty and a really good soundtrack. If you’re looking for a game that’s almost hypnotic, you can try Hyperspace Invaders II.
