Heavy Shooter

As far as video games and shooters are concerned, civilization as we know it should have disappeared a couple of times until now, if the predictions were to be believed. Thankfully, Hollywood doesn’t actually know when the end of the world is coming so you can safely enjoy the movies and the video games that claim to know the answer.

Heavy Shooter is a casual first-person shooter built using Flash, which doesn’t allow you to move, and you can only aim around the screen at the enemies that pop into existence every now and again. However, unlike your typical game in this category, this one seems to pack a bit more content, although that may be just a mirage to trick you into getting excited about it.

To begin with, the entire action takes place in a post-apocalyptic environment, which means that the landscape is usually brown and most of the buildings have collapsed. People seem to be just as violent as ever, on the other hand, so you have plenty of bad guys to shoot regardless of the environment you happen to find yourself in. In fact, there are not so many different locations you can visit and you first have to clear a few stages on the same maps, which gets boring in a hurry.

Your weapons are very important and they need to be constantly upgraded in order to keep you with the enemies, which get more resistant as you manage to get further into the game. In fact, some of them are almost immune to bullets and you must use the grenade launcher function to eliminate them. Medkits can be purchased as well, and they come in handy when your health is low.

The gameplay is not exactly top notch and modern gamers might get incredibly frustrated by the fact that you cannot move at all, so you are forced to stand and get shot until you figure out where is the enemy attacking you from. The graphics are pretty basic and so are the animations, not to mention the unoriginal and static backgrounds you have to gaze at for minutes on end.

All things considered, Heavy Shooter is certainly not a good option for gamers who know what a real FPS feels and looks like. However, this might prove to be a pretty nice option if you are a beginner with the genre and you need something extremely light to get you started.
