Driving Speed 22.0.11
Driving Speed 2 is yet another game created and released for those who want to experience a bit of how it is to drive some really powerful muscle cars. Throughout the game you are able to play the classic modes: quick race, championship and of course LAN, against your friends.
A limited number of cars but customizable
One of the many things that attract players to driving games are the cars. Driving Speed 2 offers a handful of them which don't really look that spectacular but they're not buckets of rust either.
Initially you can only change the paint job of your cars. After you get into the racing scene and start winning some money, you are free to customize them in terms of performance and handling. Stock, all the cars feel kind of the same when you drive them but once you get exhaust, intake, ECU, suspension, tires, transmission and other upgrades, they do make a big difference and you can feel it in the game.
Well designed race tracks and environment
Driving Speed 2 doesn't excel in the graphics department although it is a good looking game. Even at the highest level of detail you feel like it could use a bit more but this counts only if you’re really looking for a high level of visual realism.
On the other hand, if testing your driving skills is the goal, then you’ve found a good place to do it. The tracks are very well designed, you have a decent number to choose from and as for the cars, well, they perform and handle like the real thing.
Driving Speed 2 won't be that kind of racing game where you smash the acceleration key and keep it pressed the entire race duration because here you'll have to master when to brake, how to enter and exit a curve. Car damage is real and in championship mode you do end up paying for what you wreck so taking good care of your car adds a bit more realism to the game.
A good racing game for everyone
On a closing note Driving Speed 2 is a good game to have. Cars handle in a realistic way, the tracks are full of tight bends that require patience and skill. It's worth a try.
