Dead Island: Epidemic

Dead Island: Epidemic is yet another game that pitches you into a world of zombies in which you must fight for survival. However, this hack and slash allows you to team up with other players and engage into action-packed co-op missions against the zombie hordes and other teams.

Zombie themed games might have overstayed their welcome because at this moment, the only thing missing is a Zombie Barbie Fashion/Makeup Studio thing...but I’m not sure about that. There’s a chance one already exists.

If you share that opinion Dead Island: Epidemic might be the thing you need to try to change your mind about the whole zombie scene. It’s a game that is focused on letting people have fun while being thrown into some pretty challenging scenarios.

The game pushes a team Co-Op mode where four players must work together to complete various tasks that are assigned by an NPC. Good to know is that every time you play this mode, missions vary and so do the environments. Not only does this offer replayability value but it also leaves a lot of space to try new things and strategies, up to a certain point, of course.

A second mode spices things up by pitching three teams of human players against each other and, obviously, more zombies. Teams have to collect supplies for points and there are a lot of ways you can go about it. It’s like you quadruple the chaos and the fun at the same time.

The above might seem to be a bit of an overstatement but as far as free-to-play games go, this one is almost airtight, not to mention that it’s still in beta stages of development. Sure, Alt+Tab makes it crash if you’re unlucky but just don’t do it and you’ll enjoy a hiccup-free game.

Apart from looking great, having smooth gameplay and excellently polished mechanics, Dead Island: Epidemic also features a crafting system. Since at one point you’ll feel repetitive gameplay coming on, having the option to continuously experiment with creative and crazy weapon and gadget ideas is great.

Dead Island: Epidemic is that kind of game that tends to grow on you as you play. There’s a lot to it and apparently it gets better. Variety is there, combat is how it should be, monsters get tough enough to pull off a team wipe without flinching and that’s some of the stuff that makes Dead Island: Epidemic a very good game.
