Area-51 Free Full Game
Area-51 is a first-person shooter with a setting you can quickly pick up right from the title. It involves the US Government, the Illuminati and an experiment to create mutants that obviously go very wrong. And from that it’s easy to understand that your goal will be to kill every mutant and their leader.
A linear shooter that fits very well in the action genre
Like in all games in which you play the role highly trained soldier who’s part of a team, you get to hear a lot of chatter between the guys and the upper chain of command. In Area-51, the lines are a lot better than you see in most games. The voice acting is good, the kind of good that allows you to feel sorry for when a comrade shouts out his last words just before he dies. Also, Marilyn Manson does a bit of voice acting in this one.
Tie that with the well-created atmosphere and you get a relatively intense shooter. You barely get out of a segment in the enemy overwhelmed base, and you immediately stumble into another wave of monsters. It’s all good fun, especially since you get some pretty loud guns to use. Area-51 has one of the most satisfying shotguns you’ll ever use in a game. And wielding two at the same time to blast aliens a few feet back feels good.
Good looking graphics and level design
Even though Area-51 is a fairly old game, even by today’s standards, the graphics are above average. Back in the day it was a decent game and it really shined in the audio department with the sound effects. The underground based where the killing is done looks good, it’s full of dark places from where mutants get to ambush you and you have little pockets of light that make you feel a bit safer.
The story is kind of trivial but its generic nature fits well with the genre and since you’ll have a good shooter experience in front of you, there’s a good chance that you won’t really care about the plot. A nice twist to things is the fact that you will be afflicted with the alien virus and transform into one of the mutants at will, benefitting from added strength and new abilities.
One for the shooter fans that just want to kill stuff non-stop
On a closing note, Area-51 is a title worth playing if you’re looking for the generic shooter setup and gameplay. It’s not a copycat of a game, it has its unique features and look, gameplay is good but it doesn’t excel in any particular aspect.
