ADOM is one of the best games I've ever played. It is an adventure game very similar to Rogue and Nethack. You are an adventurer who has travelled a great distance to get to the Drakalor Pass.
The Drakalor Pass is a valley surrounded on all sides by unclimbable mountains. You take control of your character as he arrives there and then go and explore dungeons and attempt quests set by characters that you meet as you play the game.
Your character is different everytime you play the game because it gets different skills and abilities depending on what you want it to be. First the sex of your character has to be chosen, then the race(Elf, Dwarf etc.), and finally a profession(Ranger, Thief etc.) .
You have to chose between 10 races and 20 professions to choose from which greatly influence your characters skills, attributes and starting possessions
