For all the people that need a Sony Playstation(PSX) emulator: here your answer.

editor's review

ePSXe is an application designed to help nostalgics of all ages relive the gaming experience that was delivered by PSX Sony Playstation consoles right from their desktop PCs. The app uses existing PSX BIOS to revive the classic games.

A straightforward and easy to use emulator

The application runs on the PSX plugin system, uses very little of your system resources and displays a user-friendly interface which makes it accessible. The latter is true as you don’t have to be a rocket scientist to get it working but there are a few things you need before you can enjoy some games, meaningly the plugins and the BIOS.

It might seem a bit of work and it could be as the BIOS part is a bit difficult to obtain but the Internet has yet to disappoint us when we really need to find something. Once you have everything you need you can access the ePSXe configuration wizard and it will guide you through every little step with an explanation for each of them.

After that, all that’s left is to load the source for the game into ePSXe and play.

Bring back the games from the golden age

ePSXe supports a long list of games such as Breath of Fire, Cool Boarders, Dino Crisis, Final Fantasy 8,9, Gran Turismo, Megaman X4, Parasite Eve, Resident Evil, Spiderman, Soul Reaver and more. Each of the previously mentioned games might need a specific little configuration before you can play it but luckily for you, the emulator comes with documentation that makes it clear which needs what.

Use your old gamepads

ePSXe enables you to enjoy the full experience of the classic console by allowing you to use gamepads to play. All you have to do is connect them to your PC and then simply choose the port from within the application.

All in all, with ePSXe it might take you a little bit of time to gather all the required resources to be able to play the games but once you manage to, you can enjoy them anytime you want to.
