Dualis

Dualis is a Nintendo DS emulator that’s built using C++ and Assembly. It’s a plugin based piece of software that emulates video, audio, IPC, SPI, keys and the rest of the core elements.

In the world of emulators, Dualis doesn’t occupy one of the top spots when it comes to user-friendly GUIs and intuitive design. At the same time, I’m not saying that it’s difficult to use, it just uses a different approach.

For one, the emulator is comprised out of two separate windows, one for video output and one for settings. There are plenty of other emulators that work just fine with everything in one place. To be fair, with Dualis some of the core settings are much easier to access and therefore you can make changes a lot faster.

For the casual emulator user, Dualis does its job well and after a few uses on record, you’ll see how it can do things better. The emulator offers a good deal of features that every emulator should have and a few that are not so common.

If you’re interested in seeing what’s underneath the graphical user interface, you can give the ‘readme.txt’ file a, read. There you’ll find a lot of detailed information about the video, CPU, GBAMP emulation, memory, shortcuts and more.

All of that is available in the app, but there’s a good chance that you will rarely need to change any settings. Like with most emulators, in Dualis you just open the ROM and play.

To end, Dualis is a decent emulator that appeals most to those who have dealt with similar tools before. As a DS emulator, it does its job right and with ease.
