Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire Demo

The Harry Potter saga has extended far beyond the cover of the books, thanks to the well-known movie adaptations released on Broadway and the countless video game spinoffs that tried to take their share of the franchise. Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, however, manages to include enough elements to make it a pleasant experience on its own, regardless if you are familiar with the Harry Potter universe or not.

To start off, you need to know that the story revolves around the Triwizard Tournament, to which Harry somehow gets invited in mysterious circumstances. By taking part in this tournament, you and your friends must face off against a wide variety of threats and magical beats, as well as take part in the famous Quidditch World Cup to relive the events from the books.

The third-person perspective allows you to work with the environment and get a grip on your surroundings, which gives you the advantage when facing enemies from multiple sides. The keyboard controls, however, may be a bit counter-intuitive at first, but you can quickly get used to the way the character moves on the screen and not consider it too much of a downside.

As you might expect, the characters use magic in order to overcome the challenges that lay ahead of them, by making use of their trusty wands. These wands can be easily controlled using a few hotkeys, which enable you to attack, lift objects or various other actions that are possible throughout the game. Each spell has its own special effect, which is beautifully rendered by the graphic engine, giving you plenty to admire as you advance through the levels.

As previously mentioned, you are joined by your two best friends over the course of the missions, depending on who you choose as your main character at the start of the game. This enables you to use team tactics in order to defeat more powerful foes or move heavier objects around, although you are not able to control the other players directly.

Even if you do not consider yourself as a Harry Potter fan, you can still enjoy the game for its good implementation of the magic aspect into fights and environment manipulation. The bright and colorful landscapes are very well chosen for this type of game, as is the familiar music playing in the background.
