Total War: Warhammer was revealed earlier this year with a big and boastful computer-generated trailer, and the development team at The Creative Assembly is now offering a behind-the-scenes video designed to show gamers how the footage was created by the teams at Maverick and Platige.

The two companies had worked on the reveal for two years, using a variety of sources to imagine the universe of the video game and to make sure that it was easy to recognize for those who love the fantasy franchise in the real world.

Total War: Warhammer is a game that tweaks the traditional formula of the series, with four factions that will each have unique mechanics on the strategic as well as the tactical level.

So far, only the human Empire and the Dwarves have received in-depth looks from The Creative Assembly.

For the first time, flying units will be present on the battlefield and gamers can actually deploy wizards in order to try and annihilate major parts of the enemy forces, although that comes with risks.

The developers have recently offered more details on the new Lords system, which will allow the biggest heroes of the universe to be present both as overseers and as combat units in the new title.

Total War: Warhammer will be out on the PC and is coming at some point during 2016.
