The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt's first expansion, Hearts of Stone, introduces a new possible romance for protagonist Geralt of Rivia, and CD Projekt Red confirms that the new relationship doesn't interfere with the main story romances.

The Witcher 3 brought forth its sprawling story back in May, offering some impressive adventures for protagonist Geralt of Rivia. Besides killing monsters, saving his adoptive daughter Ciri, and doing all sorts of Witcher things, the plot also brought forth two main romance options, in the form of Yennefer and Triss.

While players had the chance to develop a relationship with a few other characters, Triss and Yennefer were the main ones.

Now, after confirming an hour ago that the first expansion for the game, Hearts of Stone, brings a new relationship for Geralt, the studio offers a bit more information through its Community Manager, Marcin Momot.

He confirms on Twitter that the new romance doesn't interfere with the main story relationships for reasons that will become clear once players actually start the expansion.

He has declined to offer any other details, so expect to see just how the add-on handles the new romance option once it arrives on October 13 for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.

The two main relationships, Triss and Yennefer, are set to receive an update soon that adds new dialog options for them.
