It's already clear that Hideo Kojima will leave Konami after the launch of Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, and a new rumor is suggesting that the well-known video game maker might be recruited by Chinese company Tencent to create an entirely new intellectual property.

The information comes from a site that does not offer any proof for the claim, and neither of the two involved parties has issued an official reaction yet.

Apparently, the negotiation process between Hideo Kojima and an executive inside Tencent has already started, according to a NeoGAF translation.

The Phantom Pain will be launched on September 1, and it is likely that any official announcement about what the game maker plans to do with his future will be made a few days later.

Tencent certainly has a big presence in China and Asia, creating and publishing video games with big audiences, while also delivering e-commerce services and offering social media services.

The company is also becoming more involved in Western gaming and currently has investments in Epic Games, Blizzard, and Riot Games.

It's unclear whether Tencent plans to get Hideo Kojima to work for one of the companies mentioned above or if it wants to create an entirely new structure to house his talents.

Previous rumors have suggested that Hideo Kojima will be interested in launching a Kickstarter for a new game once he leaves Konami.
