Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom starts its global launch today, September 1, and the day-one update is already available for download across all platforms, i.e. PC, PS4, PS3, Xbox One, and Xbox 360, bringing different enhancements and optimizations.

Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain is eagerly awaited by millions of fans from all over the world, and finally, they'll be able to enjoy the latest stealth experience from legendary designer Hideo Kojima and Konami.

The actual game launches today, September 1, all over the world. At the same time, a day-one update is now rolling out across all of the game's platforms.

As opposed to regular launch-day patches, this one doesn't require all that much extra space. According to SegmentNext, it weighs in at 420MB on PS4, 150MB on PS3, and around 750MB on the Xbox One.

Update 1.1 for The Phantom Pain includes overall optimization and stability enhancements, according to Konami, as well as additional features and enhancements to the Forward Operating Base competitive multiplayer experience, although the publisher doesn’t just say what it's tweaked to the pretty controversial mode.

You can expect to see other updates and patches for Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain appear in the following weeks, after Konami manages to gather feedback from players who are now starting to enjoy the title.
