The PlayStation 4 home console has managed to post a tenfold increase in sales on the Japanese market, taking the number one position in the hardware chart, while managing to deliver no less than 46,177 units to its fans.

The major improvement comes after the price of the device was cut by the team at Sony in order to make it more attractive during the coming months.

For the week that ended on October 4, data from Media Create quoted by NeoGAF shows that the 3DS from Nintendo, which had used to sit in first place, dropped about five thousand sales in order to reach 24,250.

The final position on the podium is occupied by the PlayStation Vita, which also saw a decline in its own numbers.

The Wii U went from 18,024 units sold to gamers to just 12,842 in one week.

The older PS3 managed to move 2,088 consoles during the one-week period, while the Xbox One is just above the 200 mark.

Tokyo Xanadu from Nihon Falcom for the Vita managed to take the number one position in the video game chart 48,473 during its debut week.

The rest of the top ten includes: Winning Eleven 2016, Yoru no Nai Kuni on the PS4, Yoru no Nai Kuni on the Vita, Yo-Kai Watch Busters: Red Cat Team / White Dog Squad, Picross 3D 2, Super Mario Maker, Pokemon Super Mystery Dungeon and Splatoon.
