The Nintendo 3DS is still the leader of the Japanese hardware sales chart, even if the handheld has posted lower numbers than during the previously tracked week, moving from over 42,000 to just 28,279 units delivered to its fans.

The platform is still very important to gamers in the country, despite its age and the fact that a smaller number of major titles are arriving for it.

The PlayStation 4 continues to sit in second place and has managed to deliver 14,495 home consoles to gamers for the week that ended on August 23, according to data from Media Create quoted by NeoGAF.

The Vita has also registered a slowdown in its own sales, currently standing at 12,159, followed by the Wii U home console, which might get back to third place as long as it manages to improve its own sales, which are now of 11,302 units.

The PlayStation 3 might be old, but it has managed to post sales of 2,549, while the Xbox One is once again under 200.

Super Robot Wars BX from Bandai Namco Games for the 3DS is a newly launched title that has managed to take the number one in software sales, with 98,366 copies delivered to players.

Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer from Nintendo is in second.

The rest of the top ten includes: Yo-Kai Watch Busters: Red Cat Team / White Dog Squad, Splatoon, Rhythm Heaven: The Best+, Reine des Fleurs, Minecraft: PlayStation Vita Edition, Mario Kart 8, Animal Crossing: New Leaf, and Fire Emblem Fates: Birthright / Conquest.
