14 DAY TRIAL // The future video game studio headed by Hideo Kojima still has plans to collaborate with movie director Guillermo del Toro on a future project, despite the fact that things did not work out for their joint Silent Hills endeavor.
That project was canceled when the video game creator fell out with publisher Konami, which is getting ready to launch his Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain title.
Guillermo del Toro tells IGN that, "I love working with Kojima-san. We are still in touch. We are still friends and working into doing something together, but that’s not going to be."
Silent Hills was supposed to be an evolved horror experience that uses the power of the new home consoles to create new frightening experiences for fans.
The playable teaser that was launched satisfied a lot of gamers and Kojima and Guillermo del Toro explained that they were planning to involve the community in the development process.
Hideo Kojima will probably set up an entirely new studio once The Phantom Pain is launched, but he has not yet offered official details.
Metal Gear Solid V introduces an open-world structure for the first time and will be launched on September 1 on the PlayStation 4 and the Xbox One and two weeks later on the PC.
