Video game developer Blizzard is offering all players who are engaged with Heroes of the Storm a chance to get double the experience they regularly would until Monday, July 6, at 1 PM Pacific Daylight Time.

The period is being offered in order to make sure that the community is compensated for a previous double XP period that ended earlier than it should have.

The company explains on the forums that "We’ve seen quite a bit of disappointment over this, as well as a progression issue that affected players in Europe, and we’d like to apologize for any frustrations these things have caused. In order to return some of this bonus time to you, we’re planning to offer an additional 100% XP Bonus event that will span an entire weekend."

The double experience period for Heroes of the Storm is also a great way to celebrate the arrival of the major content patch called Eternal Conflict, which adds Diablo-themed elements to the Multiplayer Online Battle Arena title.

Blizzard says that it will continue to deliver both balance patches and more content for the title, all based on its other big franchises.

Heroes of the Storm needs to keep its core community engaged in order to compete with both DOTA 2 from Valve and League of Legends from Riot Games in the long term.
