Video game developer 343 Industries and publisher Microsoft are announcing that they are delivering another update for the playlists included in Halo: The Master Chief Collection, designed to give gamers a wide choice when it comes to modes.

The Team Hardcore playlist has been updated with the mode from Halo 3 and the two companies explain in the Halo Waypoint update that it will keep the versions from the second and the third installments in the series merged in order to ensure a healthy population of players.

343 Industries adds, "We know some of you have fond memories of last-second clutch plays on Guardian Ball, or epic flag runs on The Pit CTF, and that you’ve been waiting to play these game types in matchmaking – we hope you enjoy."

Halo: The Master Chief Collection is set to become more popular in the fall of this year when the next gen Halo 5: Guardians launches.

The package is the only way to experience the classic first four titles in the series and ODST on the Xbox One and that means that 343 Industries will continue to offer updates to tweak mechanics and to improve the experience.

Halo: The Master Chief Collection had major issues with matchmaking and other core features when it was first introduced, but since then the game received a lot of updates and free new content that make it a solid purchase for fans.
