The development team at Turtle Rock and 2K Games are announcing that they are ready to offer Evolve for free during the coming weekend for all gamers who have a PC or an Xbox One, giving them free access to all the core elements of the shooter, including the new Hunt 2.0 experience.

All those who already have the title on all platforms on which it is offered will be able to experience all the available downloadable content for free.

The free period starts at 12:01 AM Pacific Time on Friday, September 4, when Evolve owners will get access to their free content, and one day later the free period for everyone else will be offered.

On September 4, the development team is also adding a powerful new monster called the Meteor Goliath to the shooter.

They state, "Meteor Goliath, Evolve’s first adaptation, is a variant of the iconic Goliath Monster, adding a new look, and stunning blue-fire effects, as well as new audio, and gameplay. Meteor Goliath uses his burning 'area off effect', and increased range to spread residual fire damage across the entire Hunter team, while showcasing a fiery twist on Goliath’s abilities."

Gamers will need to find new ways to battle the creature and that means it's a great moment to try the characters that were added to the shooter via the DLC.

Turtle Rock has said that it will continue to deliver new content for Evolve.
