Video game developer Turtle Rock Studios is announcing that it is delivering a massive new update for Evolve, which tweaks some of the core mechanics, introduces a new hunter called Jack and also offers a new map.

Jack is a trapper who talks about himself using the name The Jackal and uses a pair of pistols, which allow him to deliver a constant stream of fire on a target. Moreover, he is able to use a hacked survey satellite and to deploy Repulsor gloves to stop a monster.

Murder Pits is the new Evolve map, designed to offer a new take on the Arena mode and to challenge gamers to cooperate in new ways.

Turtle Rock adds, "We’re excited to introduce Hunt 2.0, which includes significant improvements to the matchmaking, user experience, and revamped leaderboards while playing Hunt mode. This mode was built in part on desires expressed by the Community."

When it comes to balance for the core Evolve mechanics, the development team says that gamers will be able to see tweaks to the ability of Monsters and the jetpacks for Hunters.

Domes are deploying faster, and the entire Evolve experience is supposed to be more competitive and to bring back gamers that might have abandoned the title.
