Playing Fallout Shelter and Pro Cycling Manager 2015

Fallout Shelter is a mobile game and its mechanics are fairly simple but it has really managed to get its hooks in me. I am thus currently playing it more than other bigger, dedicated PC titles, which is a little surprising.

The Bethesda title was initially supposed to be a weekend diversion but it had some difficulty spikes that hit me hard the first few times I tried to create a Vault.

I then became committed to getting at least 100 citizens in my underground shelter, a goal I have not yet managed to reach, while also making sure that I do not actually spend real-world money.

Fallout Shelter is a good example for other big companies that want to take PC or console franchises and bring them to mobile with a minimalist but interesting set of mechanics.

But the game is mobile, and I can only play it for so long without longing for the better graphics quality associated with the PC.

Because the final Grand Tour of the year, La Vuelta from Spain, is on TV, I will also spend some time with Pro Cycling Manager 2015, trying to create an interesting custom team made up mostly of youngsters and deliver some big victories during its first twelve months of existence.

The fact that the PCMDaily mod has received an update is also a good reason to return to the cycling sim.
