Paradox Development Studio is announcing that the coming The Horse Lords expansion for Crusader Kings II is designed to introduce a number of new options for those who like to mod the game, giving the community a wide range of ways to tweak their experience.

The forum-based diary explains that a range of tags and mechanics can be modified to change how the grand strategy experience works, which is a great way to keep the game interesting in the long term.

Probably the best-known mod for Crusader Kings II is based on "A Song of Fire and Ice" from George R.R. Martin, and it will be very interesting to see how they can expand on their already very detailed and engaging experience.

For The Horse, Lords Paradox is also making some changes to the Central Asian area from which various nomadic powers emerged in order to threaten Europe.

More counties are added, with more duchies and kingdoms that cover cultures like Uyghur, Khitan, Sogdian and Tocharian.

Depending on the start date, various powers dominate the region, and the developers have chosen to represent mostly Manichean and Buddhist religions.

The Horse Lords for Crusader Kings II will arrive on July 14 on the PC via digital distribution.
