14 DAY TRIAL // SEGA is getting ready to make a surprise announcement linked to its long-running Yakuza series although the company is not yet ready to offer any sort of information on what kind of project might be revealed.
Gematsu says that sources close to the team working on Yakuza are saying that the announcement will be made on August 18 at around 5 PM official Tokyo time.
Given that the Xbox One from Microsoft and the PlayStation 4 from Sony are a few months away from launch, speculation from fans suggests that a new game in the franchise will be revealed as coming to next-gen devices.
Yakuza 5 was launched in Japan in December of 2012 and has not been announced for a Western launch.
SEGA might also announce another spin-off game like Yakuza: Dead Souls or might be preparing remakes for the older titles in the series.
