Toshihiro Nagoshi, the chief creative officer working on the new Yakuza Ishin, says that the fifth core game in the series will not be localized for Western gamers because the team needs all its resources in order to develop the new title.

He is quoted by CVG as saying that, “We don’t have a plan for that at the moment. The Yakuza Studio team is a fixed size, and we have to choose between forging ahead with the next game or localising the one that just came out.”

Yakuza Ishin is at the moment also only confirmed as launching for the Japanese market.

Traditionally, the series published by SEGA has not sold very well in Europe and North America and the company is unwilling to commit resources that it knows might not generate too much revenue.

Yakuza Ishin will take the player back to medieval times and will introduce a number of new game mechanics.
