Xi3's is keen to capitalize on its status as the only announced and revealed Steam Box device via a new trailer that's designed to show off the unique capabilities of the hardware.

During SXSW, the development team announced that gamers would be able to pre-order a Piston by paying 999.99 dollars (around 730 Euro), with delivery estimated to take place later during the year.

The Steam Box concept involves a gaming-focused device created using a PC architecture that's able to run the digital distribution service and all the titles that are available for it.

Valve seems to be interested in partnering with various third-party hardware developers to create the new devices.

Company leader Gabe Newell has also suggested that the internal hardware division will start testing its own hardware in the coming months.
